Serving Korean Food to our Neighbors
Our journey began with our founder and chef, YunHee Cowin, who grew up on the southern coast of South Korea, a region celebrated for its bold flavors and rich food traditions. It was there that she learned the art of cooking, immersing herself in the recipes and techniques passed down through generations. In 1994, YunHee made Bellingham her home, and after years of managing various fine dining establishments, she realized her dream by opening YunGaNe in 2019. Her vision was simple yet profound: to share the comforting embrace of Korean home cooking with her second home.

Head Chef: YunHee Cowin

Our journey hasn't been without obstacles. Opening just before the pandemic presented unforeseen challenges, but the unwavering support of our patrons and the growing appreciation for Korean cuisine in our community have been our driving force. As YunHee often says, "Food opens up the heart. We are all connected, and no one can live just by themselves." This belief fuels our passion and inspires us to continue sharing our culinary heritage with you.

At YunGaNe, every dish tells a story. From the sizzling dolsot bibimbap, a harmonious blend of rice, vegetables, and marinated beef served in a hot stone bowl, to our signature Korean-style fried chicken glazed in YunHee's homemade sauce, our menu is a testament to the diverse and hearty flavors of Korea. We take pride in preparing our banchan—an array of side dishes—fresh daily, ensuring that each meal is accompanied by the vibrant tastes that are the hallmark of Korean cuisine.

From Our Family to Yours,
